Chiropractic Family Care in Orange City, FL

Your family is OUR family too!

Chiropractic Care For All Ages

We provide chiropractic care to both young and old. Chiropractic care for the entire family in one place.

Everyone asks “is it safe to adjust babies?” The answer is YES ABSOLUTELY! The birthing process can be very traumatic for newborns. Sometimes newborns having trouble latching to breastfeed or only feed on one side. Colic and reflux are a couple others symptoms we see with newborns. By removing the nerve interference the body can heal and perform at its optimum potential allowing these newborns to fully thrive.

Children benefit from chiropractic care to help prevent common illnesses such as ear infections, asthma, bed-wetting, allergies and ADD/ADHD. While we don’t “treat” these conditions, we remove interference in the nervous system that allows the body to heal on it’s own and perform at it’s best.

Adults experience degenerative disc and joint disease, back pain, sciatica, numbness in the legs or arms, neck pain, headaches, TMJ disorder, GERD, High Blood Pressure and/or menstrual problems. These symptoms can be related back to spinal nerve roots that are misaligned causing interference in the nervous system functioning properly. Again we do not “treat” these illnesses we simply remove the interference so the body can heal and function at it’s best!

Family Care

Chiropractic care is a holistic, drug-free form of health care that thousands of people around the world use to get well and stay healthy naturally.

While most people choose chiropractic care for themselves as adults, many are beginning to learn of the health benefits for infants and children, as well.

Although chiropractic is extremely effective for pain relief, people continue to benefit from chiropractic care well after their aches and pains have diminished.

Prenatal Care

Prenatal care can be a great way to help with common ailments soon to be mothers suffer with such as, back pain, sciatic pain, headaches, sleeplessness and general sense of discomfort. Through chiropractic care Dr. Grainger can identify misalignments and imbalances in the spine causing this pain or discomfort. Research shows that sacral misalignments during pregnancy can lead to complications during pregnancy such as inadequate uterine function and mal-presentation of the baby (breech or transverse). We highly recommended chiropractic treatment during your pregnancy.

Benefits of Prenatal Chiropractic Care include:

  • Increased comfort throughout pregnancy
  • Reduced back and pelvic pain
  • Lower risk of inductions
  • Less incidence of postpartum depression

Our Chiropractic Techniques

Activator Technique

The chiropractic method where the activator, a unique hand-held instrument, provides the adjustment by delivering a controlled, light, and fast thrust to the patient, without causing undue strain to the patient. This method is a great option for patients that do not like the “cracking, snapping, popping” of manual adjustments.

Diversified Technique

This technique is the form of high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust that is traditionally associated with chiropractic manual adjustments. For this method, chiropractors apply a short (low-amplitude), quick (high-velocity) thrust over restricted joints (one at a time) with the goal of restoring normal range of motion in the joint. The patient’s body is positioned in specific ways to optimize the adjustment of the spine.

Thompson Technique

This technique involves specialized treatment tables that have sections that drop a short distance during an HVLA thrust, with the premise that the dropping of the table piece facilitates the movement of the joint. This adjustment approach is sometimes used in addition to or, in place of, a more traditional diversified HVLA adjustment. Here, the traditional “cracking sound” may or may not occur and therefore this type of manipulation may also be considered a form of mobilization, or a gentle adjustment approach.

Logan Basic Technique

This technique is one which requires a very minimal force. In this technique, a light and constant pressure or force is applied against a specific contact point at the base of the spine, on the sacrum. Supplementary contacts at different points in the spine or along some particular muscles such as the piriformis can also be used. This technique basically uses the muscular structure, which surrounds the sacrum as a lever to balance the complete spinal structure.

Cox Flexion / Distraction Technique

This technique is used to treat many conditions of the lumbar spine. It is a non-surgical technique aimed at increasing spinal motion and resolving disc bulges and disc herniations.

Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression is a type of traction therapy applied to the spine in an attempt to bring about several theoretical benefits including: Create a negative intradiscal pressure to promote retraction or repositioning of the herniated or bulging disc material.
